"I used Gary Carter ("The Tax Guy")'s service for my 2004 and 2005 returns. I highly recommend Mr Carter, especially if you are a non-resident alien (NR). The complexity of filing taxes for non-residents is mind-boggling and few tax experts know the tax rules that specifically apply to NRs.
In fact, I sought the advice of two experienced tax specialists for my 2004 return. I had done a lot of research myself, but wanted to seek the advice of a professional to validate my findings. As none of them seemed to know the rules applicable to my specific situation, I posted a message on an online forum and was directed to Mr Carter.
Mr Carter very quickly and clearly assessed my situation. I could eventually claim a large refund from the IRS thanks to his advice. Had I followed other specialists's directions, I would have forfeited this refund.
Using Mr Carter's service will save you a lot of time, effort and will give you the assurance that you correctly filed your taxes. Depending on your situation and how well you know the tax code, you might even save a lot of money.

"Mr. Gary Carter prepared my tax returns for the years 2001 and 2002. In 2001, I worked in New Jersey, California, and Minnesota; in 2002, I changed my visa status from F-1 to H1-B. All these issues confused me how to prepare my tax returns, although I did it by myself in the years 1998-2000. I would say that Professor Carter really does good work, and I especially appreciate his expertise on tax treaties. I think that the service fee is quite reasonable. Some of my friends in CA, NJ, MA, who have other professional tax firms prepare their tax returns, were charged higher than his service fee.
